A race that will show the true face of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Sarajevo, September 23, 2025. – The Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dubravka Bošnjak, held a meeting in Sarajevo with representatives of the Cycling Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Olympic Committee of BiH regarding preparations for the international cycling race “Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina 2026.”
The delegation was led by the Race Director and President of the Cycling Federation of BiH Toni Zorić, Project Manager Branislav StojkićPresident of the Olympic Committee of BiH Izet Rađo and Secretary General of the Olympic Committee Said Fazlagić.


A sporting spectacle and tourist magnet
The organizers presented the race concept, emphasizing that the Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina is already attracting strong international interest. So far, applications have been received from 28 countries worldwide, including almost all European nations, as well as distant destinations such as Australia and the United Kingdom. According to announcements, top professional athletes from over 20 teams will arrive in BiH in 2026, placing the race among events of exceptional importance for sport, tourism, and the promotion of the country.
This prestigious sporting event is scheduled for the second half of April 2026, with the race to be held in three stages, from Sarajevo to the Adriatic Sea, passing through Konjic, Jablanica, Mostar, Ljubuški, Čapljina, Grude, and Stolac – a route that connects mountains, lakes, historic towns, and the Mediterranean south. The race is expected to host more than 28 national and international teams from across Europe.

Support from the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH
Minister Dubravka Bošnjak expressed her satisfaction and stressed the importance of such a project for Bosnia and Herzegovina:
“Today we received confirmation that Bosnia and Herzegovina has the strength to organize an event that can attract worldwide attention and place Bosnia and Herzegovina firmly on the international sports and tourism map. „Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina 2026“ is not just a sporting event, t– it is a moving postcard of the country. S. Images of cyclists passing through the mountains, the Neretva canyon, Mostar’s bridges, the vineyards of Herzegovina, and the Adriatic coast, willleavea lasting visual impression. The organizers have demonstrated seriousness and a high level of professionalism, which deserves every praise. We are convinced that this project will bring long-term benefits, and the Ministry will be a strong partner in its realization.

President of the Olympic Committee of BiH, Izet Rađo, also underlined the importance of the race:
“Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina“ is a project of enormous importance for sport in our country. Bringing athletes from more than 28 countries is not only a sporting success but also a national achievement. This race can become a recognizable brand of Bosnia and Herzegovina worldwide.”
Project Manager Branislav Stojkić informed Minister Bošnjak about the organizational challenges such an event entails, ranging from logistics and infrastructure to safety and technical requirements: „ I would particularly highlight the importance of the race’s media dimension. We are negotiating an international TV broadcast that will ensure images from Sarajevo, Mostar, Herzegovina, and Neum reach audiences worldwide. In this way, the race becomes more than just a sporting event, – it becomes a platform for the global promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina. With the support of the Ministry of Civil Affairs and all partners, we are confident we will organize the race at the highest international level,” said Stojkić

Promotion on a global stage
It is also important to note that Toni Zorić, President of the Cycling Federation of BiH, will travel tomorrow to Kigali (Rwanda) for the UCI Road World Championships and the Congress of the International Cycling Union (UCI), where he will hold a series of bilateral meetings aimed at further promoting the race and attracting new teams.

Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina 2026 is not just a sporting event – it is a project that connects sport, tourism, and cultural heritage promotion. The host cities Sarajevo, Mostar, Ljubuški, and Neum, along with passing finishes in Konjic, Jablanica, Čapljina, Grude, and Stolac, will have the opportunity to be part of a historic event.
