Bosnia and Herzegovina to Host an International Road Cycling Race Under the Umbrella
of the World Cycling Federation (UCI)
A major milestone for Bosnian and Herzegovinian sport and cycling! The race “Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina” has been officially included in the UCI International Road Calendar for 2026. The decision was made by the UCI Management Committee, and according to the official confirmation from the headquarters of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the race will take place April 17 to 19, 2026. year, in the category Class 2 – Men Elite.
This marks a historic moment for cycling in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as for the first time, our country will host its own Tour under the official patronage of the UCI. With this achievement, Bosnia and Herzegovina joins the ranks of European nations with a long tradition in professional cycling.

A Race Connecting Sport, Tourism, and National Promotion
Organizers emphasize that being included in the official UCI calendar is a huge recognition and confirmation of the quality of a project that has been developed over the past several years. “The Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina will showcase the sporting and tourism potential of our country in the best possible light. Our goal is to demonstrate that Bosnia and Herzegovina is capable of organizing a top-level international sporting event,” stated the organizing committee.
Through three stages in 2026, the race will present the most beautiful image of Bosnia and Herzegovina as an attractive tourist destination, highlighting the diversity of its landscapes, culture, and traditions. Already, cities from various parts of the country have expressed interest in hosting stages in 2027, showing that the race will continue to grow and discover new destinations and natural beauty across Bosnia and Herzegovina in the years to come.

Global Interest
As previously reported, teams from 28 countries have already expressed interest in participating in the race. Now that the event is officially part of the UCI calendar, organizers can formally send invitations to professional teams. It is expected that by April 2026, more than 30 nations and several dozen professional teams will arrive in Bosnia and Herzegovina — further boosting the country’s international visibility and supporting the growth of sports tourism.

The inclusion of the race in the UCI calendar is the result of years of effort and dedication by the Cycling Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the event’s organizers, with the support of numerous partners and institutions.
