A delegation and the organizing committee of the international road cycling race “Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, consisting Secretary General of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Said Fazlagić, President of the Cycling Federation of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Amar Njemčević and Project Manager of the race Mr. Branislav Stojkić, paid an official visit to the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where they were received by a high-level delegation including Prime Minister Mr. Nermin Nikšić, Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Minister of Finance Mr. Toni Kraljević, and Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Minister of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Mr. Vojin Mijatović.
The main topic of the meeting was the institutional support of the Government of the Federation of BiH for the “Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina” project, which was recently officially included in the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) calendar for 2026. This marks the first time that Bosnia and Herzegovina will have its own national Tour, an international multi-stage road race that will gather professional teams from all over the world and showcase the country on the global sporting stage.
Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić emphasized the importance of the project for the promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the development of sport, stating:
“The Government of the Federation of BiH remains committed to supporting the development of sport, strengthening sports institutions, and creating better conditions for our athletes. When it comes to the ‘Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina’, the Government will allocate funds in the 2026 budget and provide full support to this project. I particularly emphasize that the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the special partner of the race, which further confirms its importance. We are pleased that the race has been included in the official calendar of the International Cycling Union, giving Bosnia and Herzegovina another international recognition and an opportunity for global promotion.”

The “Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina” represents one of the largest sporting and promotional projects in the modern history of Bosnian cycling. Its goal is to connect all regions of the country through sport, promote the natural beauty, cultural heritage, and tourism potential of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and encourage the development of cycling at all levels.
The project enjoys strong support from the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which serves as the special partner of the race, as well as from the Government of the Federation of BiH, numerous tourism boards, local communities, cities, and municipalities along the race route. This collaboration reflects the project’s broader mission — to unite all relevant stakeholders through cooperation on a national-level initiative.

The organizers emphasize that the race will be conducted in accordance with the highest UCI standards, featuring participation from international Pro-Continental and Continental teams, national teams, and local clubs, thereby creating a powerful synergy of sport, tourism, and national promotion.
“By being included in the UCI calendar, Bosnia and Herzegovina has made a major step forward in the development of cycling and in the organization of this event, as the Tour is now officially supported by the international institution UCI. We are proud that all key institutions — from the Olympic Committee to the Government of the Federation of BiH — have recognized the importance of this project and provided their support. The Cycling Federation of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is also fully committed to the realization of the Tour. This proves that through joint efforts we can create an event that will present our country to the world in the best possible way,” said President of the Cycling Federation of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Amar Njemčević.
