As part of the preparations for the international road cycling race “Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, the organizers held a working meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Interior of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton in order to present the upcoming event and begin the process of developing safety protocols and forming a team that will work on all security-related aspects of the competition.
The meeting, held on November 14, 2025, was attended by Minister Mario Marić, Commissioner Robert Perić and and Senior Inspector Nijaz Tucaković, while the organizers were represented by Toni Zorić, Race Director, and Branislav Stojkić, Executive Director of the Tour.
In the official statement of the Ministry of Interior of HNC, it was emphasized that the race is a large-scale project requiring extensive preparations and exceptionally precise coordination among all involved stakeholders, with a key focus on participant safety and traffic regulation along the race route. The Ministry expressed its full support for the initiative, highlighting that this sporting spectacle will position Bosnia and Herzegovina on the global sports stage during the event.
The international UCI road race Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina is scheduled to take place from April 17 to 19, 2026, and will be held in three stages covering a total distance of more than 450 kilometers. The race will connect Sarajevo, Konjic, Jablanica, Mostar, Čapljina, Ljubuški, Grude, and Neum, promoting sport, tourism, and the natural beauty of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Participation is expected from 50 teams and 176 professional cyclists from 35 countries.

The organizers emphasize that the safety of all participants and spectators is an absolute priority and highlight the importance of cooperation with police agencies in all cantons through which the race passes. A meeting was previously held with the Ministry of Interior of the West Herzegovina Canton, and another meeting with the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Cantonis scheduled soon, continuing the systematic development of an integrated security plan for the entire route.

The Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina is thus entering a key phase of preparations, underscoring that cooperation with police institutions is fundamental to delivering a successful, safe, and professionally organized race that will present Bosnia and Herzegovina in the best possible light.
