At the premises of the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism a meeting was held between Minister Nasihe Pozder and representatives of the HerzegovinaBike association, led by its president Toni Zorić. The main focus of the meeting was the development of cycle tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with the presentation of current and future projects that the association is actively implementing to position our country as an attractive destination for cycling enthusiasts.
Minister Pozder expressed her satisfaction with the association’s work so far, emphasizing that there has been visible and continuous progress in promoting cycling—not only as a sport but also as a sustainable form of tourism.“I closely follow everything you do—your activities on social media as well as events that promote the natural beauty of our country. Cycling is very dear to me; I enjoy following races like the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia, and I’m especially pleased to see that something similar is being built here,” said the Minister.

President of the HerzegovinaBike association, Toni Zorić, thanked the Minister for her hospitality and support and highlighted that the road to their current success was challenging, but consistent work and a clear vision have brought concrete results. "Today, we have strong references and substantial support from various levels of government. We are seeing an increasing number of cycle tourists from Europe and around the world coming to explore the beauty of Bosnia and Herzegovina on two wheels. However, there is still much work ahead, especially in developing cycling infrastructure, both in urban centers and rural areas,” Zorić noted.
Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina: A New Stage in Promoting the Country
During the meeting, the representatives of HerzegovinaBike also introduced one of their most ambitious projects to date — “Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, an international multi-stage cycling race expected to mark a turning point in promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina as a sports and tourism destination.

Toni Zorić explained that the first edition of the race is planned for 2026, with three stages, starting in Sarajevo and finishing in Neum. The race has already been submitted to the official calendar of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), placing Bosnia and Herzegovina on the map of major international cycling events.
Minister Pozder enthusiastically welcomed the idea, stressing that events of this kind have significant value—not only in terms of sport but also in promoting the country’s natural beauty, local communities, and tourism potential. She announced her concrete support for the project, her involvement in the Organizing Committee of the race, and assistance in all phases of this important event’s realization.
„This is a project that ideally connects sport, tourism, and the promotion of our homeland. The Ministry will do everything within its competence to ensure that the Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina comes to life and becomes a traditional event of both regional and international importance,” stated Minister Pozder.

HerzegovinaBike continues its mission of connecting local communities, promoting the region through cycling routes, and creating added value for the tourism offer of Bosnia and Herzegovina — now also through the announcement of the country’s first major international cycling spectacle.
