Representatives of the organizing team of the international cycling race “Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina” held a meeting with the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Borjanom Krišto, where they presented the idea, mission, and vision of a project that will position Bosnia and Herzegovina on the international sports map. The race has been officially included in the UCI international road racing calendar for 2026, representing great recognition and a confirmation of the quality of the years-long effort dedicated to developing this project.

The meeting was attended by Toni Zorić, Race Director and President of the Cycling Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Branislav Stojkić, Project Manager of the race, and dr. Said Fazlagić, Secretary General of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the discussion, the participants highlighted the activities carried out so far and the plans for the organization of the race, which represents both an important acknowledgment and a strong promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the international sports scene.
The organizers presented to Chairwoman Krišto the idea, mission, and vision of the Tour, emphasizing that the goal of this project is to present Bosnia and Herzegovina to the world in a unique way through sport, tourism, and international cooperation. This multi-day sporting spectacle will connect various parts of the country and its cities through some of the most beautiful landscapes of Bosnia and Herzegovina, promoting its natural and cultural heritage.

Even though the race is still in the preparation phase, more than 50 teams from 37 countries have already expressed interest in participating, demonstrating the growing international attention surrounding the project. The organizers believe that the Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina will become the second-largest international sporting event in the country in terms of participating nations, right after the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF), which brought together representatives from 48 countries.
Chairwoman Borjana Krišto expressed her enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing that such events confirm Bosnia and Herzegovina’s ability to host top-level sporting competitions that connect cities, regions, and people through sport, while also promoting the country’s natural beauty and positive image.

Race Director Toni Zorić thanked Chairwoman Krišto for her warm welcome and support, highlighting that the Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina will contribute significantly to the development of cycling, tourism, and the international image of the country:
This is more than just a cycling race – it’s a project that connects sport, tourism, and national promotion. We are grateful to Chairwoman Krišto for recognizing the importance of this project and for the support she has shown to the entire team,” said Zorić.
The organizing team concluded that the Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina will become a symbol of connection, cooperation, and promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina, expressing confidence that the race will make a lasting contribution to the development of sports tourism and the country’s international reputation.
