As part of the preparations for the international road cycling race Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina 2026, the organizers visited the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, where they held a working meeting with Minister Admir Katica.

Representing the organizers, the meeting was attended by Branislav Stojkić, Project Manager of the race, and Ines Ćorić, Head of the Race Office. The discussion focused on all aspects of race safety, coordination with police units, and ensuring optimal conditions for professional cyclists and guests of the event.

The organization of this race marks a historic moment for cycling in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as it is the first time our country is hosting its own UCI Tour. The Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina will take place across three stages, from Sarajevo to the Adriatic Sea, connecting Konjic, Jablanica, Mostar, Ljubuški, Čapljina, Grude, Stolac and Neum – a route that showcases mountains, lakes, historic towns, and the Mediterranean south.

According to the organizers, 59 teams from 37 countries have already registered for the race, including 32 Continental teams, guaranteeing a high-level sporting spectacle. The race will start in front of the Sarajevo City Center (SCC), from where cyclists will head toward the U.S. Embassy and further along the route, with essential support provided by the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton – Police Administration.

Minister Admir Katica emphasized that the Ministry will give its maximum in ensuring the safety of the race and that the professional engagement of the police will secure the safety of all participants and spectators:
"The Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton – Police Administration has proven countless times that we are leaders in securing public events attended by hundreds of thousands of people annually. Our police will undoubtedly give their maximum in securing this event, which is of great importance for our country and will once again position Sarajevo Canton and all of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the global sports and tourism map. Through dedicated and professional engagement, we will once again send a clear message that everyone who comes to Sarajevo Canton can feel safe."

The organizers of the Tour expressed their gratitude to the Ministry for its support, highlighting that such cooperation is essential for the professional, safe, and successful realization of a race that will present Bosnia and Herzegovina in the best possible light to the international cycling community.
