Description

Experience a unique 170-kilometre self-guided cycling journey connecting four extraordinary UNESCO heritage sites across Herzegovina and southern Croatia. This route links the iconic Stari Most in Mostar, the medieval stećak necropolis Radimlja in Stolac, the remarkable Vjetrenica Cave in Zavala, and the world-famous walled city of Dubrovnik.

Your adventure begins in Mostar, where the elegant Ottoman bridge and old bazaar set the tone for a journey rich in culture. From there, you cycle through fertile valleys and historic villages toward Stolac, home to one of the most significant medieval necropolises in the region. Continuing through peaceful karst landscapes, you arrive in Zavala to explore Vjetrenica, a spectacular cave known for its underground rivers, rare fauna, and ancient inscriptions.

The final stage leads you across the border into Croatia, ending in Dubrovnik—“the Pearl of the Adriatic”—where stone fortifications and timeless architecture offer a stunning finale.

Balanced between cultural heritage and breathtaking nature, this cycling route offers the perfect pace to explore UNESCO treasures, meet local communities, and experience the spirit of the Balkans in an unforgettable way.
