Mostar, October 2, 2025 – A working meeting was held at the offices of the Tourist Board of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNC) between the organizing committee of the international cycling race „Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina 2026“ and representatives of the HNC Tourist Board.
The race delegation was led by Toni Zorić, Race Director and President of the Cycling Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Branislav Stojkić, Project Manager, while the hosts were Anđelko Maslać, Director of the HNC Tourist Board, and Emir Tipura, Deputy Director of the HNC Tourist Board.
A Race Connecting Sport and Tourism
During the meeting, the organizers presented in detail the race concept, its mission and vision, and emphasized the importance that such an event carries for Bosnia and Herzegovina – particularly in terms of tourism promotion.
The route of the “Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina 2026” will pass through six cities of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, including Konjic, Jablanica, Mostar, Čapljina, Stolac, and Neum. This makes HNC one of the key regions in showcasing the natural beauty, cultural heritage, and tourism potential of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Strong Support from the HNC Tourist Board
Representatives of the Tourist Board of HNŽ/K expressed great satisfaction in being part of this historic project:
“We see the ‘Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina’ as an opportunity for Herzegovina-Neretva Canton to present itself to the world in the best possible light. This event is not only a sports manifestation, but also an exceptional promotion of tourism, culture, and the hospitality of our region. We are pleased to contribute to the successful realization of the race,” stated the HNC Tourist Board.
Year-Round Promotion
Race Director Toni Zorić thanked them for their support and underlined how the involvement of institutions such as the Tourist Board is crucial for the long-term success of the project:
“The ‘Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina 2026’ is already attracting global attention, and through partnerships with tourism institutions we can ensure that images of our country reach the world and attract new visitors. This is a unique opportunity to present Bosnia and Herzegovina as a destination for sport, tourism, and culture. It is especially important to highlight that the cities and municipalities along the race route will gain a tool for promotion that they can use throughout the entire year – since the biggest sports-tourism event in the country will put them in the spotlight,” Zorić emphasized.
Regional Cooperation
Later this week, the organizing committee will travel to Belgrade to meet with Dušan Gojić, President of the Cycling Federation of Serbia, and Ivan Stević, an Olympian and current organizer of major international sporting events. On this occasion, a memorandum of cooperation will be signed and plans will be made for joint efforts on this and future regional and international projects.
