This past weekend, we successfully organized another edition of the Ćiro Bike Touralong the Hutovo – Neum route, bringing together more than 80 participants from across the region. This sports and recreational event once again highlighted the significance of promoting Southern Herzegovina as an attractive cycling and tourism destination.
The bike tour was held with the support of the Tourist Board of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, , the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Neum, as well as numerous partners who continuously recognize the importance of investing in sustainable tourism and encouraging active time spent in nature.
Participants enjoyed a scenic ride through the beautiful karst landscape, following the historical path of the former Ćiro narrow-gauge railway, connecting the hinterland of Hutovo with the Adriatic coastline in Neum. The cyclists were welcomed at the seaside finish line with a group lunch and friendly gathering..
New Infrastructure for Cyclists in Hutovo
What set this year’s tour apart from previous ones was the newly installed bicycle service station in Hutovo, along with new Ćiro route signage, further enhancing the safety and orientation of cyclists along the trail. These infrastructure improvements were implemented through the Sarajevo – Mostar – DubrovnikSarajevo – Mostar – Dubrovnik cycling route development project, which aims to connect and promote the region through sustainable tourism and cycling.

In addition to the aforementioned tourist boards, the event was supported by long-standing partners: HT Eronet, Continental Tires, Oakley Store Sarajevo, Škoda Apolo, REDAH, and Capriolo SC Mostar. Their continuous support ensures high-quality event organization and contributes to the growing recognition of the Ćiro narrow-gauge railway as a symbol of Herzegovina’s cycling heritage.
The organizers expressed their sincere gratitude to all participants, partners, and institutions that recognized the importance of this event and helped bring it to life. The Ćiro Bike Tour from Hutovo to Neum has once again demonstrated how the synergy between sport, tourism, and local communities can create an authentic and appealing experience for all generations.
