Udruga za promociju biciklizma “Hercegovina Bicikl” u suradnji sa Sportskim savezom Grada Mostara te vi\u0161e biciklisti\u010dkih klubova iz BiH i Hrvatske organizira 14. izdanje Biciklisti\u010dke karavane prijateljstva Mostar \u2013 Vukovar, koja \u0107e se odr\u017eati od 28. travnja do 2. svibnja 2026. godine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registrations for this year's cycling caravan are now open, and the organizers emphasize that preparations are in full swing. The goal of this event remains unchanged \u2013 to connect the twin cities of Mostar and Vukovar through sport, remembrance, and unity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five Days, 500 Kilometers \u2013 A Ride in Honor of Remembrance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karavana \u0107e zapo\u010deti u ponedjeljak, 28. travnja 2026., kada \u0107e biciklisti krenuti iz Mostara na put dug 500 kilometara do Vukovara. Planirani povratak sudionika je u petak, 2. svibnja, nakon posjeta Borovu selu i prisustvovanja komemoraciji za 12 poginulih hrvatskih redarstvenika.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cyclists will once again link Mostar and Vukovar, and the caravan itself carries multiple symbolic meanings. In addition to promoting friendship and sport, the event aims to honor all victims in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a special emphasis on the suffering of Vukovar during the war years. Furthermore, this event contributes to connecting the places along the caravan route, strengthening cooperation among cycling communities, and promoting a healthy lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Route and Organization<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karavana \u0107e trajati pet dana i sastojat \u0107e se od \u010detiri etape koje \u0107e ukupno obuhvatiti vi\u0161e od 500 kilometara. Biciklisti \u0107e se kretati trasom Mostar \u2013 Kiseljak \u2013 \u017dep\u010de \u2013 Ora\u0161je \u2013 \u017dupanja \u2013 Vukovar, bicikliraju\u0107i magistralnim i \u017eupanijskim cestama. Sigurnost sudionika osiguravat \u0107e policijska pratnja, dok \u0107e logisti\u010dka podr\u0161ka uklju\u010divati kombi vozilo s hranom, pi\u0107em i ostalim potrep\u0161tinama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who Can Participate?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Priority for participation is given to members of the organizing clubs and athletes. Due to limited capacity, the number of participants is restricted to 30 cyclists. All participants must have a suitable bicycle, and registration includes signing a participation agreement. Minor participants under the age of 18 must have parental\/guardian consent, while those under 16 can only participate if accompanied by an adult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside the cyclists, several support personnel will be present, including two official vehicles providing assistance throughout the route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the ride, we will be accompanied by a support van for personal belongings, a personal vehicle, and a police escort throughout the entire route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    17:00 \u2013 Turning towards Lepenica, where fellow cyclists from Kiseljak will welcome and escort us.
    18:00 \u2013 Arrival in Kiseljak, where we will light candles at the memorial site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          12:00 \u2013 Arrival in Vukovar, where we will be greeted by the media and local authorities.
          12:30 \u2013 Departure from Vukovar towards Ov\u010dara.
          13:00 \u2013 Arrival at Ov\u010dara, where participants will light candles at the memorial dedicated to the 200 wounded individuals and medical staff from Vukovar Hospital, who were executed at this location by Serbian occupying forces on November 20, 1991. A guide will be present at Ov\u010dara to provide further details about the tragic events that took place there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            09:00 - departure to Borovo selo, where the anniversary of the martyrdom of 12 Croatian police officers will be marked.
            09:15 - The participants of the bicycle caravan will lay flowers and light candles on the memorial, and then attend a memorial mass for the fallen police officers.
            10:00 a.m. - Joining the procession that will move on foot to the monument to the fallen police officers, where the ceremony will take place
            13:00 \u2013 Return to Mostar by bus<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Important note:<\/strong> When returning, we will put your bikes in the van that will accompany us, and you must sign a statement in which you agree that the van driver can take your bike across the border from Croatia to Bosnia and Herzegovina with your consent. The organizer will draw up a joint statement with your first and last name, registration number, bicycle model and bicycle frame number. This is necessary for customs control, because the van driver will have a van full of bicycles on the way back. The participants of the cycling race return by bus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
