With this support, the strengthening of institutional cooperation continues for the largest sporting event of 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Organizing Team of the international cycling race Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina<\/em> held a working meeting with the Mayor of the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo, Mr. Sr\u0111an Mandi\u0107<\/strong>. The meeting was attended by Toni Zori\u0107<\/strong>, Race Director and President of the Cycling Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Amar Njem\u010devi\u0107<\/strong>, the Tour\u2019s Sports Director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a pleasant and constructive atmosphere, the key elements of the race were presented, including the planned start in Sarajevo in April 2026, as well as the importance of the project for promoting the capital city, developing cycle tourism, and increasing the international visibility of Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Project of Importance for the Capital and the Country<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, the organizers emphasized that the race has already attracted remarkable interest \u2014 more than 60 teams from nearly 40 countries have expressed their wish to participate in the first edition of the Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina<\/em>. This level of interest confirms that Bosnia and Herzegovina is ready to host a major international sporting event that brings long-term sporting, tourist, and promotional benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mayor Sr\u0111an Mandi\u0107<\/strong> welcomed the project and highlighted that the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo recognizes the value of an event that connects sport, tourism, and the international promotion of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Ma<\/em>ni<\/em>cipality of Centar Sarajevo is always ready to support projects that contribute to the development of sport, tourism, and the international reputation of our city and country. The \u2018Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina\u2019 is much more than a sporting race \u2013 it is an opportunity to showcase the beauty of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina to the world and to strengthen cooperation between local communities. I am pleased that the start of this major international event will take place right here in the heart of Sarajevo, and I am confident that together we will set the standard of organization at the highest level.\u201d \u2014 <\/em>stated Mayor Sr\u0111an Mandi\u0107.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

A Tour that connects Bosnia and Herzegovina<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Organizing Team presented the three-day, 450-kilometer route from Sarajevo to Neum, which will connect numerous towns and municipalities, promoting the natural beauty, tourism potential, and cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Race Director, Toni Zori\u0107<\/strong>, expressed gratitude for the meeting and support, emphasizing the crucial role of the capital city\u2019s institutions in the successful organization of the race start:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe support of the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo is another important recognition for this project. The Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not just a sporting event \u2013 it is an international platform for presenting our country, its cities, and its people. I am confident that through our joint efforts we will deliver an event that will leave a lasting positive impact on the development of sport and tourism.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amar Njem\u010devi\u0107, <\/strong>the Sports Director of the Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasized the importance of this moment for domestic sport and cycling:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"This is an extremely important moment for sport and cycling in Bosnia and Herzegovina. For the first time, our national team has the opportunity to compete on home soil and collect UCI points that lead towards the Olympic Games. This race represents a powerful motivational tool for the development and affirmation of young athletes, as well as an opportunity to attract children and youth to cycling as a sport. I believe that the Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be a driving force for the further growth of cycling in our country.\"<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strengthening Institutional Partnerships<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Organizing Committee has held a series of important meetings with institutions that have recognized and supported the project, and the support of the Municipality of Centar further strengthens the robust institutional framework being built around this event of national importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
