Herzegovina is interwoven with historical trails and roads, and one truly beautiful experience is offered by the route along the Old German Road. The name of this route comes from the gravel road that the locals call the \u201cGerman road.\u201d Although the exact origin of the name is not definitively known, it is believed that the road was built during the German occupation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today, this route is paved, making it possible to cycle even with road bikes.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This route offers a blend of history, natural beauty, and adventure on two wheels. It starts in Mostar, passes through Rodo\u010d, and continues toward Jasenica, where an exciting turn leads you to a climb known as the \u201cGerman Road.\u201d This gravel path winds its way toward Slip\u010di\u0107i, offering views of the magical landscapes of Herzegovina before descending to the peaceful \u017ditomisli\u0107 Monastery. The route then extends through the breathtaking Neretva Canyon, passing by Ba\u0107evi\u0107i and returning to Mostar, filling your ride with stunning sights and inspiring stories.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
