Behind us is another beautiful weekend in the Bidinje Nature Park, which attracted many lovers of outdoor sports, but also entire families who enjoyed the event Blidinje BIKE Festival.
For the second year in a row, the Blidinje BIKE Festival delights its participants, so it is not surprising that this year the event receives all the praise on social networks and media that followed the event. This three-day event started on Friday with the education of the youngest members of the club and the presentation of the event, Saturday is reserved for a recreational ride “Ajduk Trail” in some of the most beautiful parts of Blidinje, while Sunday was marked by the professional race “XCM Herzegovina 2020”.
“We knocked once again! Another perfectly organized event is behind us and to be honest I’m still in disbelief that we succeeded. This whole situation was very frustrating and we were on the edge of our nerves, but today we are just happy that we didn’t give up and that we were able to once again portray our country as a desirable cycling destination.We receive praise from all participants who send us messages or simply post photos on their social networks and do not spare words of praise for the organization.Really, we are happy about it and once again We thank everyone who increased this event with their presence, as well as, of course, all our sponsors and friends who made this possible, “said Toni Zorić.
“Of course, aware of the situation we are in, we followed all orders and recommendations of the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters, as well as measures of the Cycling Federation of BiH to protect and preserve the health of all participants, including organizers and judges at the event. which accompanied the implementation of these measures and we received positive assessments on this issue as well, “Zoric added.
Saturday did not surprise this year either, just like last year, clouds came over the mountain and the rain soon started to fall until the afternoon when the presentation started and when some of the most beautiful stories of the legendary Stipe Božić started. However, regardless of the clouds, the day really started in the top mood of all 60 participants of the cycling race “Ajduk Trail”, who enjoyed the stunning landscapes offered by Blidinje, which he knows best and is represented in words by the cycling guide Ante Bagarić – MTB Blidinje.
“Well, we have to admit that the rain did not surprise us and did not spoil the mood, both for us and the participants. We had 60 guests who came to spend a pleasant weekend in Blidinje, they accepted the weather as it is, summer rain is here, they put on jackets, put on The group drove the whole circle around Vran mountain, and in the afternoon they returned to the Staza restaurant, where a workshop “How to get to the top” was held by the legendary alpinist and travel writer Stipe Božić, “added Zorić.
It is important to note that this workshop was organized within the project “Cycling routes for the improvement of natural and cultural heritage of Herzegovina and Montenegro – Cycling Rural”.
Sunday was marked by the professional race “XCM Herzegovina 2020”, which attracted athletes and professional cyclists from 5 countries to try their hand at the Blidinje trails. There were two trails on offer: 52 km with 1,000 meters above sea level and 85 km with 1,700 meters above sea level, which is reserved for Elite drivers and all those who feel that way.
The fastest on the small track was Dejan Gavrić (BK Summit) who overcame the 52 km long test in 2:18:16. In the Elite Women category, the fastest was Lejla Tanović (BBK Puls Sarajevo) who finished her race in 2:18:49, while in the extremely demanding race intended for professional Elite drivers, Vedad Karić proved to be the fastest (BK Rotacija Spin ) who crossed 85 km and 1700 m above sea level in 3:37:06 with an average speed of 22.1 km / h, and thus took the victory in the overall standings. He is followed by Marko Fržop (BK Top Sport) in second place with a time of 3:43:10 and Goran Cerović (Pljevlja XC Team) in third place with a time of 3:50:46.
“We did the impossible and this time I want to thank the team behind this project and all this would be impossible without all those wonderful 40 people who worked tirelessly and gave themselves to send another beautiful postcard of their country. Even many of the participants commented on the event that I cannot believe that someone in such difficult times can make such a good and successful organization of the event and we are happy about that. We are really happy, “said Zoric.

Lately, it has become a real mecca for all fans of outdoor sports, as evidenced by the superbly organized Blidinje BIKE Festival event.
